By the way do you know if the tank need to be lowered or can iget it from here

sorry for missing rotate

Original fuel pump is working for about real 350 hp, untill 330 hp you doesnt need to change it. Except your ecu tune is bad and you are driving too fat. You can drive wot lambda 0,85. I dont think there is any chance to remove without lowering tank. Dont forget to adjust ecu to new fuel pump, there is relation from ecu control to fuel flow.

thank you, but i am about to change from BWA (with k04) to a CDL with tte420

YES you need the "yellow" pump! DO NOT try a tune without it!!!!
Fuel starvation is a very bad problem for a tuner, when you are on a Dyno!
Every battle Xbow with 360hp has the yellow pump!
YES you have to lower, disconnect the fuel tank. Its very easy with 2 people, but it can be done alone too.
Get the fuel out of the tank if possible (with VCDS power on fuel pump).
Get the big isolated plastic hose off, venting hose and electrical plug. (seen on your picture).
Get fuel line (hose) off from engine and "seal" it with screw or something similar.
Then everything else is from underneath.
Put some boxes there, so you can lay the tank on the boxes when you screw it lose. It will not come down to the floor, because cable and lines are to short.
Disconnect the rest.
When tank is dismounted, put a mark on the ring that holds the pump down in tank. So you can assemble it the same way.
Change fuel filter, but look for 6.6bar filter!!!! Like "MANN+Humel WK 69"

nice write up thanks

Do you need to change the fuel pump controller on the xbow, as I believe the standard one can overheat when going to a TTRS (yellow) pump as it needs more power???

There is a big fuel pump controller installed from factory, i think it will be fine. But maybe there are small wires, better check this.
