Fuel Pump (in tank)

  • Original fuel pump is working for about real 350 hp, untill 330 hp you doesnt need to change it. Except your ecu tune is bad and you are driving too fat. You can drive wot lambda 0,85. I dont think there is any chance to remove without lowering tank. Dont forget to adjust ecu to new fuel pump, there is relation from ecu control to fuel flow.

  • YES you need the "yellow" pump! DO NOT try a tune without it!!!!

Fuel starvation is a very bad problem for a tuner, when you are on a Dyno!

Every battle Xbow with 360hp has the yellow pump!

YES you have to lower, disconnect the fuel tank. Its very easy with 2 people, but it can be done alone too.

Get the fuel out of the tank if possible (with VCDS power on fuel pump).

Get the big isolated plastic hose off, venting hose and electrical plug. (seen on your picture).

Get fuel line (hose) off from engine and "seal" it with screw or something similar.

Then everything else is from underneath.

Put some boxes there, so you can lay the tank on the boxes when you screw it lose. It will not come down to the floor, because cable and lines are to short.

    Disconnect the rest.

When tank is dismounted, put a mark on the ring that holds the pump down in tank. So you can assemble it the same way.

Change fuel filter, but look for 6.6bar filter!!!! Like "MANN+Humel WK 69"

  • You are welcome!

I forgot something. Check the activated carbon filter that hangs far up the gas tank for broken plastic fittings. Sometimes they are. If broken, glue them with 2k epoxy glue.
